The Objectives for this course
- To learn and practice specific legal vocabulary in English
- To learn and practice the tools of discourse and argumentation in English
- To learn the historical, cultural and structural context of the US government
and legal system and their fundamental doctrines
- To absorb an overview or survey of the main components of American law,
including the important substantive areas of civil procedure, contracts,
constitutional law, torts, criminal law, business organizations and commercial law
- To practice advanced English oral communication skills such as speaking, listening,
presenting, and asking and answering questions
- To compare and contrast the legal systems of all of the participants
- To meet and network with young lawyers from many countries
